  • - Email infrastructure support (ensuring 24 x 7 availability of servers, email traffic)

This Senior Systems Engineer position is responsible for designing, supporting and maintaining the enterprise messaging infrastructure. Individuals in this position will have a high level of application ownership from the design, installation, implementation and ongoing support of server based messaging applications.  Incumbents interact with the entire infrastructure to maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and provide recovery for messaging server based systems.  The Senior Systems Engineer ensures that standards are maintained across all platforms and environments.  The Senior Systems Engineer will participate in and coordinate project based activity to develop and deliver changes to the server based environment.

. UNIX Systems Engineer (08-144/GSES)

Description
This position, i.e., Unix Systems Engineer for the Engineering and Integration group, is for an Unix engineer and technical expert with respect to servers and application hosting environments and architectures to support a major IT Services Delivery Operation for the Department of Energy (DOE). The position reports to the EES AVP for Engineering.  As a UNIX systems engineer the incumbent is responsible for engineering research and design, software and hardware test and evaluation, test bed to production project management, and product or services integration into the DOE IT Infrastructure and DOECOE programs.  Specifically the engineer will develop code, test and implement computer programs and subsystems utilizing multiple programming languages, as well as lead subsystem design and participate in system design projects, interface with customers to define system requirements and priorities, and analyze, resolve and assist in resolving production problems, and lead or support business studies and feasibility studies.
The Senior Engineer for Engineering and Integration duties include the following:

  • Research, analyze, test, and evaluate new technologies.  Participate in strategic planning for capacity/capability improvements.  Ability to perform detailed system capacity/utilization/performance analysis.  Expertise in network/system security and encryption technology.  Assist with troubleshooting of advanced systems/UNIX issues

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support analysis and incident response activities in a tiered 24x7x365 Security Operations Center.  The individual will be responsible for correlating security information sourced from multiple event sources across the enterprise.  The candidate will be responsible for perform event analysis, preliminary risk assessment, and incident response and coordination activities to mitigate risk to the environment.

The candidate will provide in-depth expertise on current vulnerabilities, exploits, and malicious activities targeting government computer systems.  The individual will be responsible for the development of timely reporting to management and coordination with other operational teams.

Description                
The candidate will be providing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) support to the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Health, Safety and Security (HSS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
                                      

  • Develop and/or evaluate C&A documentation for HSS both classified/unclassified systems in accordance to NIST 800 series.
  • Conduct System Test and Evaluations (ST&Es) and develop supporting documentation of test results.

Senior Business Process Re-Engineering Analyst 908-219/CSMEI)

A senior member of the team performing over several years a task critical to the mission of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (RW) – the re-engineering of the processes and systems used to implement RW’s Configuration Management (CMM) for Yucca Mountain.  RW’s CMM will include document search/retrieval/organization, records management, requirements management, version control, auditing, and connectors to support different document types, including drawings (in Catia), documents, and other types of records.   RW’s CMM process must comply with and support the requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as well as other Federal laws and statutes and DOE orders and directives.  The first phase of the project includes business process analysis, development of the ‘to-be’ architecture, and benchmarking and selection.

Working as part of a team, the team member will perform the following:

  • Development of structured interviews (to determine the as-is process and engineer the to-be process)
  • Interviews with DOE and contractor personnel with a broad range of seniority, including those early in their careers as well as SES.

Description
This position is for a senior cyber security expert who is well versed in the planning and execution of multiple projects supporting Information Assurance (IA) and cyber-related technologies and services for the Federal government.  This is a leadership position requiring someone who possesses expert-level knowledge of cyber security technologies, several years of project and program management experience, and a strong desire to work with Government officials to achieve excellence in planning and executing an advanced cyber technology program for DOE.

Responsibilities
The Senior Information Assurance Program Manager’s duties include the following:

  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and vision for planning and implementation of projects involving a wide array of cyber technologies in support of the DOE mission

Summary Description: 
Individuals will work with Department of Energy management, staff and contractor personnel to assist with development and management of the implementation of the Federal Desktop Core Configuration program for the ACIO for Cyber Security (CISO).  The individual will participate in the development of documentation for implementation guidance and provide technical expertise to support the project.  The position will be a full time, long term positions that will require a high level of diligence and productivity.

The incumbent’s responsibility will be to develop policy, guidance and training material; develop, analyze and report data call responses; assist with requirement gathering, planning, and development of Departmental compliance reporting system; and assist with the development of a program to assist sites with development and improvement of minimally acceptable system configurations.  This individual must have experience with common security configurations such as those developed by NIST, DISA, CIS, and NSA.  They must understand the process for developing and maintaining Government C&A packages for IT systems, including all aspects of risk management.  They should understand FISMA requirements and reporting.

Senior C&A Compliance Auditor (08-200/CCSAS)

Description
Individual will work with Department of Energy management, staff and contractor personnel to perform reviews of previously prepared Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for IT systems that are identified as being subject to FISMA reporting.  All reviews will be performed in compliance with the ACIO for Cyber Security (CISO) C&A audit and review process. 

Each review will be classified as either a compliance review which will confirm the packages consistency to DOE C&A policies and procedures or will provide advice and assistance in improving the quality of each package so that it will achieve compliance to DOE C&A policies and procedures.  Each review will be conducted at one of three levels of rigor ranging from package structural and content analysis to detailed and rigorous compliance reviews.   Reviews may include both unclassified and classified systems.  Due to the size of most C&A packages, reviews will be conducted using a team approach.  These positions are not IG/HCC positions.

In addition, they may participate in the development of documentation for C&A packages and assist others in developing documentation related to C&A packages.  These positions will be full time, long term positions that will require a high level of diligence and productivity.

The incumbent’s responsibility is to manage, coordinate and participate in C&A package reviews.  It is expected that this individual may manage multiple teams of two or three individual reviewers/assessors.  This individual will coordinate the team’s activities to ensure that packages are reviewed in a manner that is consistent with type classification and at a level of rigor identified at the initiation of the review process with the system owner.  This individual should have experience leading IT security audit teams, the preparation of Government C&A packages and/or managing the build-out and deployment of complex IT systems.  They must understand the threat environment associated with Federal IT systems. They should be experienced working in an IT audit environment and be able to work with federal managers, IT System Owners and other staff responsible for those systems being assessed.  They must participate in the development of documentation for C&A packages and assist others in developing documentation related to C&A packages.  In addition, they must input and train others to input data and documentation into an automated C&A and FISMA tool.

Individual will lead a team of technical and non-technical staff in the selection, design, development, architecture, integration and implementation of a DOE enterprise-wide solution for automating the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process.  This is a management position requiring excellent skills in providing analysis, research, and management coordination of contractor staff in support of federal client objectives.  It is expected that this individual will have experience leading and managing matrixed teams of IT consultants managing the build-out and deployment of complex IT systems.  This person must understand the threat environment associated with Federal IT systems and should be experienced working in the DOE or federal environment.  The individual must be able to work with federal managers, IT System Owners and other staff responsible for ensuring seamless integration of technical solutions for the DOE enterprise. 

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in Information Technology, Security, or Engineering with 7 or more years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • US Citizen (REQUIRED)
  • US Government Top Secret clearance highly desired.
  • One or more of the following certification is highly desired: CISSP, CISA or ISSEP
  • Systems or network certifications (MCP, CCNA, etc.) is a plus
  • Must have knowledge of NIST security certification and accreditation (C&A) process
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the threat environment in which Federal IT System are developed, deployed, operated and managed.
  • Must have extensive experience in leading both program and system-level cyber security reviews and audits.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, email, etc.)
  • Experience in real world network and system security including problems and solutions.

SQL Database Administrator (08-211/GDBM)

Description

  • Responsible for SQL Database activities including stored procedures, scheduled jobs, triggers, backups, and maintenance plans. 
  • Monitor database integrity by daily review of schedule jobs, custom reports and Documentum reports.
  • Support existing Crystal Reports and develop new reports as needed

 

  • Problem identification and resolution, including troubleshooting performance problems (application/server/network).
  • User training and documentation


Job Requirements

  • Basic RDBMS knowledge is required (SQL Server).
